Open and draw: DrawFig no longer requires sign-in until you run out of credits

The DrawFig editor now opens as a guest. Canvas editing and save no longer force registration or email verification. Sign in only when guest credits are not enough for AI or TikZ.

Open and draw: DrawFig no longer requires sign-in until you run out of credits

The most annoying part of research drawing is often not "I cannot draw" — it is being blocked by sign-up and email verification before you start. DrawFig now drops that gate: open the editor and draw. Sign-in appears for one reason — guest credits are not enough. Start here: https://drawfig.com/editor.html

1 — What needs an account

Task Sign-in?
Open the canvas, drag nodes, draw graphs, edit labels No
Ctrl+S save (no more "please log in / verify email" wall) No
One plain-text AI canvas trial (guest credits match one AI action) No
More AI / TikZ import-export after the trial Yes
Sync diagrams to a cloud account across devices Sign-in is better
Email verification is off by default: new accounts do not have to click a mail link before using the product.

2 — Credits, stated plainly

The canvas is free. Credits apply to AI and TikZ import/export:
  • Guest trial: about 15 credits, enough for one plain-text AI action;
  • Sign-up bonus 20, then +10 per day when signed in;
  • TikZ export 3 / import 5 per use;
  • AI is charged per action (images cost extra).
A practical loop:
  1. Open the editor and sketch the homework graph, flowchart, or paper draft;
  2. Use the trial when you need AI to add edges, align, or redraw from a screenshot;
  3. Sign up only when you want more generations or repeated TikZ export — after you already know the tool works.

3 — Who this is for

  • Papers: edit structure on the canvas, export TikZ into Overleaf. Compile errors: TikZ troubleshooting
  • Graph theory class: ask AI for K3,3 / complete / bipartite graphs, or draw vertices and edges by hand.
  • Class / group meeting: browser only; students do not need a verified inbox first.
AI produces editable vector objects, not a locked PNG. See: editable vectors, not pixels

4 — 30-second try

  1. Open the editor (no account).
  2. Draw two vertices and an edge — or type draw a K3,3 in AI.
  3. For paper code: File → Export → TikZ.
  4. Sign in when credits run out; keep frequent diagrams in your account.
The trial is free. We will keep deepening the paper-figure path. Send broken diagrams and error screenshots via on-site feedback.
